about

It's been a while since our last transmission, and our artists have been busy. We have an array of quality dancefloor weaponry ready to be unleashed on vinyl over the coming months, but we thought we'd kick things off with our second compilation release.

Just like first time round, this collection spans the full spectrum of our sounds, from low energy to high, but always forward thinking.

The EP opens with a sweeping, drifting soundscape by the ever-prolific Acidulant from Malta. Always busy in the studio, he's been making waves with a release alongside Hardfloor on Balkan Vinyl, amongst others. In 'Stairways' haunting synths and vocals sweep over punchy percussion and bass parts to create a truly evocative piece.

Moving on with one of our newer acts, Mexico-based Kaban brings us the huge groover 'Sugar Bits'. His debut release with us 'Overflow' is one of our most well received tracks to date, and here he pushes both the melodic and percussive elements of his sound, with huge pulsating electronics, heaps of echo and and a rhythm that will envelope your mind.

Next up we have Glasgow-based rhythm specialist Boom Merchant with the driving bass monster 'Night Drive'. Fresh from a 4-track vinyl release on Resopal Schallware, here his machine-driven drum grooves generate momentum over low end power, into a breakdown that plays with both robotic and organic elements. This one pushes into serious dancefloor territory.

Our penultimate track features the high energy sounds of a new addition to the label, the inimitable Johnny Kaos from Italy. With 'Unidentified Object', the MB Elektonics and Sci+Tec man brings us a slamming techno workout full of crisp elements, rattling snares and looping vocals. With his signature energetic groove in full swing, this one really lets loose.

Closing out the EP is another new addition to the label, the elusive DJ Warp. As Takashi Watanabe's alter ego, Warp is one of Japan's finest exports of the dark techno variety. Here he brings us a track so twisted and relentless it provides the perfect ending for our journey. Piercing synths, horns and drones move over a kick drum so heavy it has it's own gravitational field.

We hope this music takes you right on up to your happy place.
